One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned in my walk with God is that He is intentional. Nothing He commands is random or without purpose. When He calls us to purity, it is not just about avoiding sin so we can be called “moral.” It is about protecting our destiny. It is about choosing which spirit has the right to partner with us as we walk through life.
We live in a world that is spiritually engineered. The systems of the world — wealth, power, influence — are not neutral. They are backed and sustained by spiritual forces. This means that no one truly “succeeds” without some kind of spiritual partnership. Some submit to the spirits that built the system; others bow to pride, lust, greed, or ancestral spirits. But for the child of God, the only way to thrive is by submitting to the Spirit of the One who already conquered this world: Jesus Christ.
The Bible says, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). That means victory in this world does not come from our own efforts but from allowing Christ to live through us. Without this partnership, we are guaranteed to fail.
Why Purity Matters for Destiny
Purity is not about rules — it is about covenant. When you remain pure, you keep your vessel reserved for God alone. But when you engage in fornication, you are not simply indulging in casual pleasure. You are entering covenant with another spirit.
Intimacy always creates covenant. Covenant always opens spiritual doors. And whoever you make covenant with gains access to your life. This is why many people’s lives are messy. They desire God’s blessing, yet their bodies are altars for other spirits. God is holy. He will not share His dwelling place with lust, rebellion, or pride.
So He says, “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Me.” He wants your body not for control but for intimacy, because covenant gives Him permission to move in your life. Without covenant, His hands are tied. God does not bless every person simply because they are alive; He blesses covenant children.
Singlehood: The Season of Hosting God
In singlehood, your body becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit. God has plans to prosper you, but at the same time, there are other spirits that have plans to destroy you. The way you guard your body determines which spirit gains access.
When you abstain from fornication, you declare: “Lord, this temple belongs to You alone.” You allow Him to dwell fully, to shape you, and to prepare you for destiny. But when you fornicate, you invite another spirit into covenant, and that spirit claims rights over your life.
This is why many believers are frustrated. They attend church, they pray, but they are not fully submitted. They want God’s inheritance — His blessings, His breakthroughs, His favor — without intimacy. But God sees the heart. He says, “I will not be robbed. If you only come to Me for what I can give, without covenant, then what stops you from running to another spirit tomorrow when they offer you the same?”
This is why so many Christians remain lukewarm. They see small, occasional breakthroughs but no lasting transformation. God is not after religion; He is after covenant intimacy.
This is why fornication is so dangerous. It convinces you that you can host God while still opening yourself to other spirits. But God is holy. He is organized. He does not share His temple with lust or rebellion. Your destiny is not random. It is tied to covenant. Whether single or married, the principle remains the same: God blesses covenant children not lukewarm Christians who open themselves to every passing spirit.
